The Romsey Shanty Crew
Romsey Shanty Crew is a friendly community group for anyone who enjoys singing, or would like to start.
We meet to sing traditional and modern sea shanties in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. There are no auditions, no pressure and no need to read music. If you can speak, you can sing.
My name is Nick Tann. I founded the crew and I run our weekly sessions.
Romsey Shanty Crew meets every Tuesday from 8 to 9 pm.
Until 8 April we meet in The Stables, the outbuilding behind The White Horse in Romsey.
From 14 April our new home will be upstairs at The Cocky Anchor, 8 Market Place, Romsey SO51 8NB.
Each week’s session is listed on our Facebook page. It’s the easiest way to stay updated and keep in touch with the crew.
Lyric sheets are provided at every session. You can also download and print your own from the Shanty Lyric page, which includes Spotify links to the versions we sing.
